<a href=""></a>

The root of the term deviance is "deviate". To deviate means act or behave differently from the norm. For example, if the economic social norm was to make $75,000/yr. , a person who makes $30,000/yr. is considered deviate below that average, and a person who makes $115,000/yr. is considered deviate above that average. The same holds true for people and their behaviors in society.
